“I was in a tough place when it came to my writing and the many life transitions…. Kristin’s [group coaching program] provided a unique and fun opportunity to tiptoe back into writing for the sake of writing for me… The small community formed over the course of sessions, Kristin’s generous and gentle coaching, and the accountability to show up to the page allowed me to step back into my writing with a new lease and energy.

What are the dates and times for the live component of this program?

Our live group coaching calls will be Mondays 10 AM PT – 11:30 AM PT (12 PM CT / 1 PM ET – 2:30 PM ET) – April 14, April 21, April 28, May 5, May 12, and May 19.

What type of ‘creative’ or ‘artist' is this program for? What level of experience is required?

Spring Sessions is for all creatives, regardless of experience—whether you're a journaler, writer, artist, musician, or simply seeking creative renewal. I come from a background as a writer and oil pastel artist, and the book we’ll explore is written by a professional musician and writer. While our experiences shape the program, this space is open to anyone who wants to nurture their creative life, whether you're just beginning or returning to your craft.

Do I need to purchase my own copy of The Artist's Joy? What if I already own a copy?

No, you don’t need to purchase your own copy—the Spring Sessions includes a signed author copy of The Artist’s Joy, which will be mailed to you as part of the program. If you already own a copy, you’ll still receive the signed edition as a special part of your experience.

What if I can’t attend a live session? Will there be replays?

Yes, replays will be available. However, I strongly encourage you to plan on attending live whenever possible to make the most of your experience. The live component is where the real magic happens—offering real-time support, connection, and the opportunity to engage deeply and personally with the material and the community. While replays allow you to revisit the content, nothing can fully replace the experience of showing up in real time.

What is the time committment?

Live sessions are 90 minutes long. In between the weekly calls, you should plan to read 2-3 chapters a week from The Artist’s Joy, along with optional journaling and reflection exercises. While participation between sessions is flexible, the more you engage, the more you’ll get out of the program.

How is this different from a book club? What exactly is group coaching?

While we’ll be reading and discussing The Artist’s Joy together, the Spring Sessions is not just a book club—it’s a guided group coaching experience. Group coaching offers structured support, accountability, and personalized insight within a small community. Instead of simply discussing the book, we’ll be integrating its ideas into our own lives through interactive exploration and personal reflection within a supportive, coach-led space.

about

Kristin Vanderlip

I am passionate about using writing and creativity as tools for healing and hope. As a bereaved mother, veteran military spouse, former English teacher, and oil pastel artist, I draw from my own journey to serve others as a writer, certified writing coach, and founder of the Pen & Mend Collective.

I am the author of two faith-based journals, Rest: A Journal for Lament and Rise: A Journal for Perseverance, and have contributed to various collaborative writing projects. I hold a bachelor's degree in English and a master's degree in education from the University of Illinois, with additional studies in theology, writing, and communication at Yale and Stanford.

Through creative workshops, journaling practices, and visual art, I guide others in using creativity as a tool for healing and hope My goal is to help participants find resilience, connection, and renewal through the transformative power of words, art, and reflection.

Do you feel the same way?

If you’re feeling creatively stuck, longing to reconnect with your artistic self, or searching for renewal through creativity, the Spring Sessions Group Coaching Program is for you. Whether self-doubt, perfectionism, or life’s hardships have left you disconnected from your creative practice, this program offers a nurturing space to help you heal, grow, and rediscover joy in the process. If your creative work feels more like a burden than a source of life, or if you’ve been waiting for permission to embrace your artistry, this is your invitation. Whether you’re just beginning or have been creating for years, you’ll find support, structure, and encouragement to deepen your practice in a way that feels meaningful and sustainable. Rekindle your creative spark and find forward momentum—all within a small, intimate community of like-minded creatives walking a similar path.
